Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo found the back of the net twice, but his team, Al-Wehda, were held to a 3-3 draw by Al-Taawoun in a six-goal thriller on Thursday.
Ighalo, who has now scored in two consecutive games, netted in both halves for the home side, but Al-Taawoun fought back each time to snatch a point.
The 34-year-old opened the scoring in the 20th minute, only for Musa Barrow to equalise eight minutes later.
Fayçal Fajr restored Al-Wehda’s lead ten minutes before halftime, but Mateus levelled again just before the break.
Ighalo put Al-Wehda ahead once more in the 74th minute, but Mateus secured a share of the spoils for the visitors with his second goal of the game.
Despite the draw, Ighalo has now scored 12 goals in 20 games for Al-Wehda this season.
The 34-year-old forward succeeded in sending in over four shots, with two of them reaching the goal, despite being on the pitch for 89 minutes.
Al-Wehda is still in tenth place, 12 points behind their opponents, despite the draw. Ighalo and his teammates have a trip to Damac scheduled for next Thursday.
Recall that the Nigerian international scored in their previous encounter against Al-Ittihad, despite a narrow defeat in the game, making it the third time he scored against the team while playing for three different teams in the Saudi League.
