Super Eagles and former Golden Eaglet striker, Akinkunmi Amoo, has made the exciting leap from Copenhagen to Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus.
The talented Nigerian international has penned a lucrative three-year contract that binds him to his new club until 2026.
Amoo’s journey to Cyprus comes after enduring a challenging period marked by a persistent injury that sidelined him for over ten months.
Additionally, he faced legal troubles, involving a s*xual assault case that led him to a Danish courtroom.
However, this transition signifies a fresh start in the young footballer’s career, and he couldn’t be more thrilled to join the Omonia Nicosia family.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Amoo shared,
“I’m honored and excited to join the Omonia family. I’m looking forward to all the success stories we will create together with the fans. I want to thank my family, friends, and the media for their amazing support. It’s time to get back to work and grind.”
This exciting move brings Amoo back into the company of his compatriot, Francis Uzoho, who currently stands as the Super Eagles’ number one goalkeeper.
Uzoho himself has been a key figure in Nicosia since 2020 when he made the switch from APOEL, and now, with Amoo as a fellow teammate, the duo promises to elevate Omonia Nicosia to new heights in the Cyprus football scene.
This transfer is poised to inject fresh energy and talent into Omonia Nicosia, and fans can anticipate an exciting chapter in the club’s history with Amoo and Uzoho on board.
