Niger Tornadoes head coach Hamza Abara has revealed that his side is seriously having sleepless nights after yet another poor outing in the Nigeria Premier League against Remo Stars.
Coach Hamza and his boys have endured an abysmal campaign so far, with just three victories in 12 NPFL games.
According to the coach, the reason behind their sleepless nights is simply because they’ve been trying to figure out how to convert their chances.
Another disappointing outing on Wednesday saw them play to a 0-0 draw against Remo Stars in their matchday 12 encounter at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.
The Ikon Allah Boys battled so hard in the game but failed to break down the visitors’ defence.
The Niger Tornadoes coach told the club’s media that their plan was to take maximum points from the game, but they completely failed to execute the task.
“What we planned for was a win, but we couldn’t conquer, which is quite disturbing because we’ve been having sleepless nights trying to correct how to convert our chances,” he said.
The coach acknowledged that their greatest undoing hadn’t been the lack of chances or their creativity, but rather the challenge of converting those opportunities.
But then he highlighted their responsibility to provide players with the necessary coaching guides for goal scoring, for which he claimed they had been equal to the task.
In 12 games so far this season, the Minna Boys have only managed to secure just three wins, draw three, and lose six.
This outcome leaves the Tornadoes in 16th position on the NPFL table following the home draw with the Sky Blue Stars.
Well, another tough test awaits them as the boys from Minna set to visit Kwara United on Sunday in hopes of turning around their fortunes for the season.
