Super Eagles’ striker Cyriel Dessers netted his second league goal of the season in Rangers dominating home victory against Hibernian on Saturday.
The Nigerian forward’s contribution found the back of the net, propelling his team to a resounding 4-0 win during Matchday 9 of the Scottish Premiership at Ibrox Stadium.
In this match, the 28-year-old forward sealed the deal with a late strike for Rangers.
Senegalese forward, Abdallah Sima, set the tone by scoring a mere 17 minutes into the game, giving Philippe Clement’s side the lead. Nicolas Raskin added to the tally with a goal before half-time.
Rangers didn’t ease off the gas in the second half, with Abdallah Sima securing a brace in the 65th minute, followed by Cyriel Dessers, the Nigerian international, who completed the rout 14 minutes later to secure the victory.
Dessers played for 81 minutes during the match, making an impact with five shots, one of which hit the target, securing all three points for the home team.
Rangers’ manager, Philippe Clement, has vowed to assist Cyriel Dessers in rediscovering his goal-scoring prowess.
Despite his arrival from the Italian club, Cremonese, this summer, Dessers has only managed to score four times and provide two assists in 16 appearances.
With three points in hand, Cyriel Dessers and his Rangers team are now gearing up for a Europa League match against Sparta Prague at the Epet ARENA on Thursday.
