Coach Daniel Ogunmodede’s boys – Remo Stars failed to make the home advantage count after a dominant performance against Doma United in the Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) in Ikenne on Saturday.
The closely contested NPFL Match Day 10 saw the Remo Stars take full charge of the entire game but couldn’t find the back of the net against the Savannah Tigers.
With more than 20 shots on goal, Remo Stars had the better of the majority of the match, but Osayi Kingdom, the Doma keeper, proved to be a reliable protector for the team.
The Remo Stars coach was forced to reflect on the outcome as the game ended in a goalless draw despite all of their efforts. He immediately cried out,
“Despite our best efforts, securing the crucial win proved elusive on Match Day 10 of the NPFL24.We’ll extract valuable lessons from the game and move forward with determination.”
And following the goalless draw, the Sky Blue Stars drop to 4th place with 16 points with a game at hand, while Doma also drops from first to second with 18 points from 10 matches.
Moving forward, Coach Daniel Ogunmodede will now guide his army to battle the reigning champions, Enyimba, in midweek fixtures, as they are now without a win in their last two NPFL games.
They will surely be dreaming of getting it right this time around when they visit the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on Wednesday.
