Rivers United FC is preparing for the 2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup group stage, and they’ve decided to return to their familiar battleground.
Recently, CAF confirmed that the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo will be their home ground for this tournament.
This move might not be a shock to fans of the Pride of Rivers since they successfully utilized the same stadium last season during the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup, even reaching the quarterfinals with a roaring crowd of 30,000.
Coach Stanley Eguma and his squad undoubtedly aim to replicate that success this year.
Rivers United FC, the only Nigerian representative in continental competitions, will face off against Club Africain from Tunisia, Dream FC from Ghana, and APC Lobito from Angola in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
