Super Falcons midfielder, Deborah Abiodun, has penned a heartfelt tribute to former Super Falcons player, Desire Oparanozie, who recently bid farewell to professional football at the age of 29.
In a retirement announcement shared on her official social media account, Oparanozie’s decision touched the hearts of her former Falcons teammates, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), countless Nigerians, and her global fan base.
Joining the millions of appreciation, Deborah Abiodun took to her social media platform to honor the striker and extend her best wishes for the future.
She expressed gratitude to Oparanozie, acknowledging her as an inspiration not only to herself but also to every female child.
Despite their relatively brief time together in the Super Falcons team, Abiodun Deborah praised her former teammate for her substantial contributions both on and off the field.

Desire Oparanozie’s illustrious career featured 35 appearances for the Super Falcons, where she netted an impressive 22 goals.
She played a vital role in the team’s four WAFCON title victories and claimed the Golden Boot in 2014. She also proudly represented Nigeria in four Women’s World Cup tournaments.
