Nigerian forward, Odion Ighalo, displayed his goal scoring prowess by scoring an impressive hat-trick during Al-Wehda’s recent home victory vs Damac on a Thursday evening.
Ighalo’s incredible goal-scoring streak in the Saudi Professional League season continued as he led Al-Wehda to a 4-2 victory against Damac.
The former Super Eagles star delivered a masterful performance for his new team, netting two brilliant goals in the first half and added another in the second half.
He contributed significantly to Al-Wehda’s emphatic win. Australian striker Craig Goodwin also played a pivotal role in securing the home team’s victory.
The 34-year-old Nigerian superstar opened the scoring at the King Abdul Aziz Stadium, after finding back of the net just 17 minutes into the game. He followed up with his second goal shortly before halftime.
Ighalo’s remarkable form in the Saudi Pro League continued, as he completed his hat-trick only seven minutes into the second half.
Meanwhile, Craig Goodwin sealed the deal with a goal in the 62nd minute.
Despite Damac managing to score twice, their efforts fell short of salvaging a point.
To make matters worse, Damac had to play the remainder of the second half with one man down after Noor Al-Rashidi received a red card in the first half.
This incredible hat-trick by Ighalo brought back memories of his previous remarkable performance in March 2022 when he scored a hat-trick for Al Hilal in Riyadh during a league game.
It’s clear that his goal-scoring prowess will continue to shine brightly, making him a force to be reckoned with in Saudi Pro League
