Remo Stars Head Coach Daniel Ogunmodede has won the League Bloggers Association, LBA Manager of the Month award for October after beating three other top coaches in the process.
He became the only manager to win an away match in October in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Ogunmodede’s Remo Stars had won three matches in the period under review, with the victories coming against Enugu Rangers, Bayelsa United, and Sporting Lagos.
In that time, the team scored six goals and conceded just four times (five goals), losing just one game to Rivers United and currently sitting in the second spot in the NPFL table.
He defeated coach Eugene Agagbe Ayeni of the Lobi Stars, Rangers of Enugu’s Fidelis Ilechukwu, and Gbenga Ogunbote of the Shooting Stars to win the award.
On the other end, Robert-Mizo Christian of Bayelsa United was named the Nigeria Premier League Player of the Month for September and October.
This becomes Mizo’s first POTM, having narrowly missed out on the likes of Chukwuemeka Obioma and Imade Osarenkhoe last season—his first in the NPFL.
While the League Bloggers Award selected the wonderful strike from Plateau United’s Bernard Mundi against Heartland of Owerri as the goal of the month for October.
The independent LBA is Nigeria’s foremost league award, which recognises outstanding players and coaches in the NPFL.
