SEASON OPENERS FOR PAUL ONUACHU AND PETER OLAYINKA
Forgotten Super Eagles man Paul Onuachu ends 8-match drought after getting off the mark in Genk’s win on Saturday. In what was the seventh match of the season, Onuachu fired the equaliser for Genk to cancel out Fraser Hornby’s 3rd-minute opener. It was his first goal of the season, putting a halt to a run of eight (8) matches without a goal for Genk.
Peter Olayinka scored his first goal of the season to help Slavia Prague to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Liberec. The Super Eagles striker doubled his side’s lead in the 23rd minute after Aiham Ousou gave them the lead seven minutes earlier. On fire in the UEFA Europa Conference league with 2 goals and 1 assist so far this season, Olayinka will be delighted to break his deadlock in the Czech’s top flight this season.
ADEMOLA LOOKMAN CHARGES ATALANTA CLOSER TO SERIE A SUMMIT
Speaking in the post-match, Lookman reacted to the win over Fiorentina and Atalanta’s hunger for the three points. “It was a beautiful win, a great performance and we believed in it until the end. “I’m happy for my first goal in front of our fans, I’ve been waiting for it for a long time. I just want to see from match to match where we can go, I haven’t set myself any goals, I want to get as far as possible with Atalanta.”
The Super Eagles forward was the hero as Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio recorded a 1-0 victory against Fiorentina on Sunday. The victory puts Atalanta level on points with Napoli, but they sit second because of their inferior goal difference. Also, the victory ensures that Atalanta preserve their unbeaten run. They are the only teams that are yet to lose, alongside Napoli after eight games.

JOE ARIBO URGE TEAM MATES TO LEARN FROM MISTAKES
Joe Aribo, scored for Southampton in their 2-1 loss at home to Everton at St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday. After a goalless first half, Aribo broke the deadlock for Saints in the 49th minute rifling a shot into the far corner from inside the box to put his side ahead. Aribo’s goal was his second for Southampton, having scored in a 2-2 home draw with Leeds in August.
Aribo told the Southampton website: “The boys are really disappointed. Going a goal ahead, it’s really frustrating to concede so soon, and the boys are disappointed because we wanted to get a result today and that wasn’t the case. I was thinking about it earlier today, that we’ve been coming from behind, so to get a goal ahead was a good feeling. To concede so soon is bitterly frustrating, and me and the boys were really not happy about it. We need to go back to the drawing board, focus and learn from our mistakes.
SIX GOALS IN FIVE GAMES FOR JOSH MAJA
Josh Maja bagged his sixth goal of the season in Bordeaux’s 2-1 away win at Laval in the French Ligue 2. The deadlock was broken in the 60th minute when Eze got his goal. Dom Thomas whipped over a corner from the right and Eze was perfectly placed to nod home from close range with the towering expectant father placing the ball under his jersey as part of his celebrations.
Brilliant piece once again, Emmanuel.
Looking at these beautiful performances makes it even more painful that we won’t be featuring at the World Cup this year!
Nice one
I’m particularly excited for Alex Iwobi
May the good run continues
