The game kicked off with the Prosperity Girls showcasing their dominance early on, with Shakirat Moshood netting the opener in the 17th minute from a loose ball.
The firsr goal was swiftly followed by Blessing Ilivieda’s successful penalty shot in the 33rd minute, handing Bayelsa Queens a comfortable two-goal lead into halftime.
The second half witnessed an escalated effort from Ekiti Queens, matching their hosts with a commendable display, albeit failing to convert any chances into goals.
Despite the intensified battle, the match concluded with Bayelsa Queens claiming victory and securing all three points.
Post-game, Bayelsa Queens’ head coach, Domo Okara, commended Ekiti Queens for their spirited performance, stating that,
“Ekiti Queens are a good side as they gave my girls a good fight. Though we won, I was not impressed with the performance of my girls today, but it was an improvement from the first game we played in Akure and I know they will get better with each game.”
Conversely, Ekiti Queens’ Coach, Okunwa Egubor, acknowledged his team’s effort while highlighting the respect they accorded Bayelsa Queens as a factor in their loss.
He stated that;
“My girls tried as you know they are just two years old in playing football, but they gave too much respect to Bayelsa Queens, and that was why we lost.”
