Taiwo Lawal is on fire in the Turkish Women’s Football Super League, scoring in her second consecutive appearance to save Atasehir Belediyespor from defeat this past Sunday.
The Nigerian forward found the net during the first half, securing a 1-1 draw against 1207 Antalyaspor at the İBB Esatpaşa Stadı.
Her 27th-minute goal leveled the playing field, nullifying Antalyaspor’s early lead, and clinching a crucial point for her team after stoppage time.
Antalyaspor broke the deadlock just 11 minutes into the match through Balkissa Sawadogo, but Taiwo Lawal came to the rescue, equalizing 16 minutes later.
Although the game lacked further goals, both teams settled for a draw.
The rising star, Taiwo Lawal was elated to score yet another goal for Atasehir Belediyespor in her second consecutive game.
She shared her excitement on her X page (formerly Twitter), saying;
“Scoring in my second consecutive game for Atasehir Belediyespor is a great relief. The match ended 1-1 against Antalya.”
However, despite the draw, Taiwo Lawal and her teammates remain at the bottom of the league table after three games, with their visitors holding just a one-point advantage.
Looking ahead, Taiwo Lawal aims to continue her scoring streak when they face ALG Spor next Saturday, away from home.
