Lawal, who joined the Turkish side in August after playing for Nigeria Premier Football League’s Robo Queens, netted the opening goal at the Yenisahra Stadium.

Galatasaray, a dominant team in the league, took the lead with Benan Altinatas scoring in the 14th minute, followed by Mariem Houij’s goal in the 38th minute, leaving Lawal’s team trailing by two goals at halftime.

In the second half, Lawal managed to pull one back, making the score 1-2 and offering hope for a potential comeback just 11 minutes in.

However, those hopes were dashed as Ebru Topcu restored Galatasaray’s two-goal lead in the 59th minute, and Arzu Akkurt extended it to 4-1 in the 84th minute.

Sofia Iaderosa managed to reduce the deficit by two, scoring four minutes into additional time, but Akkurt secured her second goal of the day, maintaining Galatasaray’s three-goal lead and winning the match.

This marks the fifth consecutive defeat for Atasehir Belediyespor, leaving them at the bottom of the league standings with just one point from eight matches.

The last time both sides met, Galatasaray demolished Atasehir Belediyespor 9-0.
