The round two of the EFL Carabao Cup, currently known as the Carabao Cup for sponsorship reasons kicked off on Tuesday with teams jostling for a spot in the next round.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru continued his impressive start to the season as he found the back of the net and also provided two assists in Sheffield Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Rochdale. The 21 year old midfielder is a former Flying Eagles invitee and a younger brother to Tom Dele Bashiru who had featured for Nigeria at youth level.
Still in the same fixture, midfielder Dennis Adeniran also scored in the 3-0 victory while defender Michael Ihiekwe who recently joined the Owls from Rotherham United came off the bench to see off the tie.

Taiwo Awoniyi started from the bench and came on 15 minutes to full time in place of compatriot Dennis who had a lively and an impressive performance on the night.
Elsewhere, Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi bagged a game-winning assist for Everton in a hard-fought 1-0 win over Fleetwood Town at Highbury Stadium.
Fresh from making his 100th appearance for the Toffees at the weekend in the EPL, Alex Iwobi produced a man of the match display as Everton progressed into the next round of the competition. The rejuvenated former Arsenal midfielder played four key passes in the game, won seven of the nine duels he attempted, completed three of his four dribbles, made a clearance and won three tackles.
Frank Onyeka had his first start of the season as he featured in Brentford’s two nil win away at Colchester United.
Maduka Okoye and William Troost-Ekong both had their first start of the season for Watford in their EFL Cup home loss. Maduka Okoye who recently made the match day squad in Watford last two Championship fixtures as an unused sub, was in goal for Watford last night as they lost two nil at the Vicarage Road to MK Dons.

Super Eagles vice captain William Troost Ekong who has been linked with a move away from the club, played the entire duration of the match as they got knocked out on home soil.
