Lobi Stars, looking set for a solid 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign, have selected the Lafia City Stadium as their new home ground.
Previously, Lobi Stars played at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, but due to ongoing renovations, they’ve opted to temporarily move to Lafia City Stadium.
This stadium was formerly Nasarawa United’s home, unfortunately, they are now relegated from the NPFL. It’s an exciting change of scenery for Lobi Stars as they embark on this new journey in Lafia.
The decision to move came after thorough consideration, with both the Benue State Sports Commissioner for Youths and Sports, and the Lobi Stars management conducting an extensive facility assessment.
This move guarantees Lobi Stars a suitable home ground, emphasizing the importance of maintaining top-notch sporting venues.
In the previous NPFL season (2022-23), Lobi Stars temporarily played at the New Jos Stadium in Plateau State.
The change in venue for the upcoming season allows the club to better serve fans with an enjoyable and secure environment.
In addition to the venue change, Lobi Stars are also undergoing a coaching staff transition as well.
Bala Abubakar, who joined the club just two months ago, recently resigned, leaving Lobi Stars on a mutual consent. Baba Ganaru similarly left Lobi Stars in the same manner.
