The new Super Eagles man delivered a man of the match performance, finding the back of the net on three occasions for Gent in their 3-2 victory against Breidablik in their fourth Europa League game.

Gent will have their goal machine Gift Orban to thank, as he registered the opening goal of the game and two second-half goals to hand his team a well-deserved victory in the five-goal thriller encounter.

Gent returned to Conference League action on Thursday in an away game at the Laugardalsvöllur Stadium that could seal their place in the knockout rounds.

Barely six minutes into the game, the new Super Eagles star found the back of the net to earn Gent the lead.

But the home team had other plans for their visitors, as they equalised and quickly took the lead within two minutes.

Jason Svanþórsson was the man on target as he levelled the scores in 16 minutes. Two minutes later, the attacking midfielder bagged a brace to hand the hosts a 2-1 lead heading into the interval.

Gent resumed the second with high spirit and determination, and just nine minutes into the second period, Gift Orban equalised the scores for his team through a spot kick.

15 minutes later, the 21-year-old Nigerian international went on to produce a moment, grabbing his hat-trick to earn KAA Gent a well-deserved victory and all three points.

His goals earned the Belgian Pro League side 11 points from four games as they maintain their lead at the top of Group B while their hosts are out of the competition after recording not even a single point.

With Gent currently in 3rd position in the Belgian Pro League, Gift Orban and his teammates will return to league action against Anderlecht in a home fixture at the Ghelamco Arena on Sunday.
