The new Nigerian goal machine, Victor Boniface, is the man to watch out for right now, as he scored yet another again in the Bayer Leverkusen and Heidenheim clash.
This time around, the Super Eagles star found the back of the net twice to hand his side a well deserved victory in their Bundesliga game at the BayArena on Sunday afternoon.
Victor Boniface opened the scoring for the Xabi Alonso side and sealed it up with a spot kick in their 4-1 win over their visitors.
Boniface’s first goal of the encounter came very early in the game.
With barely nine minutes on the clock, he received a calm pass from his teammate, Exequiel Palacios, then twisted and turned the Heidenheim defender before colly slotting his strike at the right bottom side of the post.
The home team had the game in total control after heading into the interval with a lead. The visitors, however, levelled the score 13 minutes into the second half through Eren Dinkçi.
Jonas Hofmann restored the lead for Bayer Leverkusen five minutes later.
The home team kept pushing for more, and it was Victor Boniface who scored a penalty to double the lead for his team before Amine Adli’s 82-minute strike completed the rout to seal the win and all three points.
It’s now five Bundesliga goals in five games this season for the Nigerian rising star.
A very big start to the season for the Nigerian international with Leverkusen, as he now has 10 goals contribution in seven games in all competitions. Seven goals and five assists for the striker.
