Naija Ratels defender, Shakirat Olamide Oyinlola, has embarked on a remarkable journey, sealing a lucrative deal overseas by officially becoming a part of the esteemed Laliga Academy in Madrid, Spain.
The talented defender signed out with her former teammates in the Nigerian Women’s Football League in pursuit of a new and promising chapter in her career.
The 17-years-old centre-back announced her international move via her social media platform.
She shared her joy and expressed gratitude with a post on her X page (formerly Twitter) that reads;
“Delighted to start a new journey with La Liga Academy. All thanks to God. The process continues.”
Having won the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup bronze medal in 2022, Oyinlola strongly believes that this move is a significant step forward for her footballing development, especially after receiving the offer from the prestigious academy.
Speaking with Elegbete TV, Oyinlola disclosed that while she had other options to consider, her instinct led her to choose the Laliga Academy.
She believes this decision will serve as a substantial springboard for her future even as she envisions herself playing for top clubs in Europe after her time at the academy.
Joining Oyinlola at the Spanish side is another talented defender, Usani Miracle.
