Former NPFL Champions – Rivers United has proudly introduced Evans Ogenyi as their new Chief Coach.
In a major boost for the upcoming 2023/24 season, the new Chief Coach will be filling the void left by Fatai Osho at the end of the previous season.
The much-anticipated unveiling took place at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, with an electrifying atmosphere created by the lovely fans of the Pride of Rivers.
The club shared their unveiling on social media, stating,
“We’re delighted to announce Evans Ogenyi has joined the club as our Chief Coach.”
Ogenyi’s vast experience in managing reputable clubs such as Warri Wolves, Lobi Stars, and his successful stint with Kano Pillars, where he led them back to the NPFL, makes him a compelling addition to Rivers United’s coaching staff.
Expressing his excitement, Coach Evans revealed that;
“It was really an easy decision to join the coaching set-up at the Pride of Rivers. It’s an exciting time to become part of this great team, and I’m looking forward to working closely with everyone on and off the pitch.”
He further emphasized his love for the club, making it clear that joining the Port Harcourt outfit was a fantastic feeling.
With Ogenyi at the helm, Rivers United is putting its trust in his expertise to steer the team to new heights of success in the upcoming seasons, following Osho’s departure to be the new head coach of Akwa United.
