The last three matchdays of the 2022-23 Premier League season has provided nothing short of top-tier excitement, surprises and quality football.
Matchday four is next with a London derby and the preservation of a perfect record on the offer, the Red Devils looking to take their season into the next gear following an impressive win on Monday night and all top three sides from last season aiming to bounce back after recording unimpressive results last week.
Arsenal vs Fulham – Emirates Stadium (Saturday, August 27, 2022 – 5:30pm)
From bottom to top — this time last year Arsenal were bottom of the Premier League table and now, they are at the summit of the standings.
In what has been a perfect turnaround story, Arsenal are the only team to have a perfect record in the 2022-23 Premier League campaign. This is coming after their imperfect start during last season’s 2021-22 campaign as they recorded three losses in their opening three games under Mikel Arteta.
Arteta has now overseen wins against Crystal Palace, Leicester City and AFC Bournemouth as Arsenal registered three wins from their opening three games for the first time in 18 years – amassing the maximum points, scoring nine goals and conceding twice while keeping two clean sheets.
However, better than any other team, Arsenal know that their ambition of returning to the UEFA Champions League has only just begun and they must not get carried away.
The next task for Arteta and his Gunners is a London derby against Fulham – in what will be his 100th game as an Arsenal manager.

Marco Silva’s Fulham have had a fairly positive return to top-flight football as they are yet to lose in their opening three games. Recording a cracking 3-2 win against Brentford last week, holding Wolverhampton Wanderers to goalless draw the week prior, however, their most impressive results was their 2-2 draw against Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season.
Silva’s charges will now go to the Emirates for a tough assignment against the league leaders – who they are yet to keep a clean sheet against in their last 14 meetings.
Unbeaten in their last 33 home games against newly-promoted sides, Arsenal will undoubtedly be the favourites as they are unbeaten in their last eight games against Fulham, scoring first in seven of those games.

Manchester City vs Crystal Palace – Etihad Stadium (Saturday, August 27, 2022 – 3pm)
Manchester City will look to return to winning ways when they welcome Crystal Palace to the Etihad Stadium.
Last week, Pep Guardiola’s men fought from 3-1 down to rescue a 3-3 draw at Newcastle United.
However, Patrick Vieira’s Palace side could be, just like Newcastle, a tough nut to crack as it is a side they could not beat in the Premier League last season.
The London side narrowly lost to Arsenal and held Liverpool to a draw at Anfield, then recorded their first win of the season against Aston Villa last weekend.
Palace will look to build on their performances and results when they visit the champions on Saturday, knowing that their last visit to Etihad ended on a positive note in a 2-0 win last October.

Liverpool vs AFC Bournemouth – Anfield (Saturday, August 27, 2022 – 3pm)
Things are not rosy in the red half of Merseyside. Liverpool’s start to the 2022-23 Premier League season is their worst in 10 years.

The Reds have been unable to register a win this season, following draws against Fulham and Crystal Palace in their opening games and a defeat to rivals Manchester United.
However, a home tie with AFC Bournemouth could be a vital turning point.
Scott Parker’s team – who have been unable to keep a clean sheet against Liverpool in their last 13 games – have already shown their weakness against the top teams, losing 0-3 to Arsenal last weekend and 0-4 to Manchester City prior to that.
Jürgen Klopp and his charges will fancy their chances against the Cherries who they have beaten in their last six meetings and recording no loss in their last seven.

Chelsea vs Leicester City – Stamford Bridge (Saturday, August 27, 2022 – 3pm)
Much of the talk involving Chelsea and Leicester City this period has been off the pitch.
With the hot transfer topic of Wesley Fofana moving to London, both teams will push their off-field situations to a corner when they clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Despite the one-game touchline ban of Thomas Tuchel — following his scuffle with Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte in their clash weeks ago — coming to effect in this game, the Blues will file out as they seek a response against the Foxes.
Leicester have been poor on the road as they have kept just one clean sheet in their last 27 Premier League away games and have also not been able to keep a clean sheet against Chelsea in their last three games.
Leicester have been unable to retrieve maximum points in their last three games against Chelsea and their last visit to a London team ended in a 2-4 loss to Arsenal on matchday two.

Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham Hotspur – City Ground (Sunday, August 28, 2022 – 4:30pm)
Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur will visit an always rocking and hyped City Ground to face Nottingham Forest in the final game of this matchday on Sunday.
Despite the fact Spurs have taken seven points from a possible nine in their first three games of the season, the performance levels of the North London side will be a worry for the club’s faithfuls.
They must step up when they face a Forest team who will be gingered on by their ever-supportive home crowd.
Spurs will look to extend their unbeaten run of three games against Forest when they meet in a top-flight game for the first time in 22 years.

Southampton vs Manchester United – St. Mary’s Stadium (Saturday, August 27, 2022 – 12:30pm)
Manchester United turned a different page against Liverpool on Monday night.
Erik ten Hag’s men were aggressive, hard-working and clinical in their 2-1 victory against their rivals at Old Trafford.

However, the big question will be if United can deliver back-to-back and consistent top level performances. The answer could well be provided when they visit St. Mary’s lunchtime, in the opening game of the round.
Southampton will be in high-spirits following their comeback 2-1 win at Leicester last week and will be looking to inflict more away misery on United who have conceded 21 goals while losing their last seven Premier League away games.
However, United could end their travel woes as they are unbeaten in their last 13 games against Southampton.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Newcastle United – Molineux Stadium (Sunday, August 28, 2022 – 2:00pm)
This game involves two teams who will be itching to repeat some parts of their performance from last week.
Wolverhampton Wanderers showed good signs but ultimately lost 0-1 to Tottenham Hotspur last week and Bruno Lage will hope his charges can repeat some parts of that performance when they welcome Newcastle United.
Newcastle showed their ability to deliver against the top sides as they impressed many as they came from a goal down to lead Manchester City 3-1 but ultimately draw 3-3.
Newcastle are yet to lose this season and Wolves are yet to win this season, so this game could be one to watch out for.

Aston Villa vs West Ham United – Villa Park (Sunday, August 28, 2022 – 2:00pm)
Another 2pm game on Sunday features Aston Villa hosting West Ham United.
West Ham are the only team in the Premier League yet to record a single point this season.
However, their domestic woes does not reflect in their European journey as they comfortably dispatched Viborg to progress to the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage.
David Moyes’ Hammers are unbeaten in their last nine games against Villa, winning their last four and they will hope to use this factor to record their first triumph of the campaign.
